During this year, a long set of celebrations will remind the second Centennial of the end of the Serenissima, as the great and important Republic of Venice, that lasted more than a millennium, was called. 120 doges followed one another at its leadership. The first one was Paoluccio Anafesto (697 - 717), the last one, Lodovico Manin (9/3/1789 - 12/5/1797) decreed the end of the republic. |
